KMG's operating asset with a 100% share. The main activity of Amangeldy Gas is gas and condensate production. The Amangeldy field is located in the territories of the Moyynkum and Talas districts of the Zhambyl region.
KMG's asset with a 16.5% share. Currently, KMG has a 33% interest in Petrokazakhstan Inc., which in turn holds a 50% interest in Turgai Petroleum. Turgai Petroleum carries out exploration, development, production and sale of hydrocarbons at northwestern part of the Kumkol oil field in Kyzylorda Region.
KMG's non-operating asset with a 20% share.Tengizchevroil LLP was formed in accordance to the agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Chevron Corporation in 1993 to explore and develop Tengiz oilfield in Atyrau region - one of the largest oil fields in the world.
KMG's non-operating asset with a 10% share. Karachaganak Petroleum Operating is operator of the Karachaganak project — one of the largest oil and gas condesate fields in the world which is located in the West Kazakhstan region.
KMG's non-operating asset with a 8.44% share. NCOC is the Operator of the North Caspian project. Currently, KMG has a 50% interest in KMG Kashagan B.V., which in turn holds a 16.88% interest in the Kashagan mega project. The remaining 50% interest, or 8.44% in the project, is owned by Samruk-Kazyna JSC. On the contract territory there are Kashagan, Kalamkas, Aktoty, Kairan and South-West Kashagan oil-fields. The Kashagan reservoir lies 80km offshore from the city of Atyrau in 3-4 meters of water, and is more than 4km deep (4,200 meters).
Atyrau Refinery carries out oil refining and production of oil products. All new equipment and machinery had been installed, testing and commissioning works were started by the end of 2017 under the modernisation programme. In 2018, the Atyrau Refinery completed the commissioning of its new units. Refining capacity is 5.5 mln tonnes of hydrocarbons.
CaspiBitum is a bitumen production plant, a joint venture with CITIC Kazakhstan LLP (50%). The Caspi Bitum plant was commissioned in 2013. Refining capacity is 1.0 mln tonnes of hydrocarbons.
Shymkent refinery is the newest one in Kazakhstan located in Shymkent, South Kazakhstan region. The first phase of the Shymkent Refinery modernisation project was completed in 2017. In September 2018, the Shymkent Refinery completed the second (final) modernisation stage. Refining capacity is 6.0 mln tonnes of hydrocarbons.
Pavlodar refinery carries out oil refining and production of oil products. Modernisation work at Pavlodar refinery was completed in 2017. Refining capacity is 6.0 mln tonnes of hydrocarbons.
CPC operates of the largest Kazakhstan export oil pipeline and connects the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan with the Yuzhnaya Ozereyevka oil terminal on the Black Sea (near the port of Novorossiysk). KMG's share in the project is 20.75%. CPC oil pipeline length is 1,510 km (including a 452 km Kazakhstan segment). CPC oil pipeline's capacity is 67 mln tonnes per year (including a 53.7 mln tonnes per year Kazakhstan segment).
Kazakhstan-China Pipeline LLP is a joint venture of KTO (50%) and CNODC (50%) established for engineering, construction and operation of the Atasu-Alashankou oil pipeline. Kazakhstan-China Pipeline LLP is the owner of and transports oil through the Atasu-Alashankou and Kenkiyak-Kumkol pipelines. Atasu-Alashankou oil pipeline's capacity is 20 mln tonnes per year. Kenkiyak-Kumkol oil pipeline's capacity is 10 mln tonnes per year.
“MunaiTas” North-West Pipeline Company” LLP is a joint venture of KTO (51%) and CNPC E&D (49%) established to carry out designing, financing, construction and operation of the “Kenkiyak-Atyrau” oil pipeline, which is a part of the “Kazakhstan-China” oil pipeline. Kenkiyak-Atyrau oil pipeline's capacity is 6 mln tonnes per year.
KazTransOil (KTO) is a largest oil pipeline company of the Republic of Kazakhstan, total length of oil pipeline system amounts to 5,378 km. KMG's share in the company is 90%. The Uzen-Atyrau-Samara oil pipeline (UAS), part of the oil pipeline system KTO (export route) is unique heated oil pipeline. UAS provides an acess to the ports of Black and Baltic Seas through the territory of Russia (Transneft oil pipeline system). UAS oil pipeline's capacity is 17.5 mln tonnes per year.
LLP Beyneu-Shymkent gas pipeline (BSGP) is a 50/50 joint venture of KTG and Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline Company Ltd. (shareholder – CNODC, a subsidiary of CNPC). BSGP was designed to supply gas to the Southern regions of the country, ensure stable supplies of energy resources to the domestic market and diversify gas exports outside the Republic of Kazakhstan. BSGP gas pipeline's actual capacity is 13 bcm per year (designed capacity - 15 bcm per year).
Intergas Central Asia (ICA) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of KTG. In 2018, ICA received the status of the National Gas Pipeline Operator. Today, ICA carries out internal transportation and transit of natural gas within the territory of Kazakhstan through gas pipelines with a total length of 19,146.51 km. Major trunk gas pipelines of ICA are Soyuz, Orenburg-Novopskov (68.4 bcm/yr), Central Asia-Center (50.8 bcm/yr), Bukhara-Ural (31.5 bcm/yr). ICA operates 3 underground gas storages.
Asia Gas Pipeline is a 50/50 joint venture between KTG and Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline Company Ltd. (shareholder – CNODC, a subsidiary of CNPC). The joint venture was established to finance, construct and operate a section of the Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline designed to transport natural gas from the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan border to the Khorgos gas metering station in China. AGP's Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline's capacity is 55 bcm per year.
Saryarka trunk gas pipeline is owned by AstanaGaz KMG JSC, shareholders of which are Samruk-Kazyna JSC (50%) and Baiterek Venture Fund JSC (50%). In 2019, the construction of Phase 1 of the Saryarka trunk gas pipeline was completed. In February 2020, the gas pipeline was leased out to ICA, which will be responsible for gas transportation. The throughput capacity of Phase 1 of the pipeline is up to 2.2 bcm per year. The total length of the gas pipeline is 1,060.6 km. The gas pipeline will ensure stable gas supplies to the central regions and the capital of Kazakhstan.
